I studied at a german school since age 4 in Rio de Janeiro, my hometown. I finished high school at age 18 at the same school.
Before going to the university, I had the chance to get to know three newsrooms: Veja Rio (2008), Jornal do Brasil (2009) and O Globo (2010).
After these experiences, I confirmed my choice for studying Journalism/ Social Communication at PUC-Rio.
Those years were amazing! I've learned a lot about society, media, writings etc.
I was inspired by the best teachers ever!
I was also able to pratice a lot with interships. The full list:
During the university, I spent a semester in Osnabrück, Germany.
One year later I got a DAAD’s scholarship to improve my german in Kassel.
I've worked as freelancer at Folha de S.Paulo and was part of 'Focas', trainee program of O Estado de S.Paulo. Then I started to work at O Estado de S.Paulo as a reporter, specially covering politics.
Passionated about politics, I moved to the capital to cover the impeachment on the Senate for a newsletter called 'Drive', owned by Fernando Rodrigues, and publish stories on his blog hosted by UOL.
I didn't like living in Brasília and decided to return to São Paulo. I wanted to take some courses and get a better job there. One of them was focused on HTML and CSS. 'Projeto Plenário' was my first website.
With some data science skills, I started working as data journalist at g1, biggest news website in Brazil. There I could develop even more my technical skills, specially with R (and tidyverse).
For almost 5 years, I was able to cover two elections for g1, learn OSINT skills for Fato ou Fake (fact-checking), analyze and scrape a lot of data, launch my own idea as project, publish videos etc.
Recently, I accepted a new challenge to work as data analyst at Vaco, on behalf of Google. Currently, I am also doing my Master in Data Journalism, Automation and Data Storytelling at Insper.
